The Aldrich Family

“Hen-ree! Henry Aldrich!” — the teenage comedy that ran on both dials for four years.

Henry Aldrich was on the air for fourteen years and on television for four of them, which makes the series a useful measure of the handover: the radio version did not decline when the television version began, it simply continued, and both ended in the same year. The television Aldrich is also remembered for something else — the blacklisting of Jean Muir in 1950, one of the earliest and ugliest cases of the era.
