The run
(30 Episodes) Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters: Thomas (Tom) Edwin Mix (born Thomas Hezikiah Mix January 6, 1880 – October 12, 1940) was an American film actor, starring in many of the early silent Western pictures. He is said to have made as many as 336 films between the years 1910 & 1935, all but nine of which were silent features. He was Hollywood’s first Western megastar & is noted as having helped define the genre for all cowboy actors to follow. SELIG POLYSCOPE: Mix began his film career as a supporting cast member with the Selig Polyscope Company. His first shoot in 1910 at their studio in the Edendale district of Los Angeles (now known as Echo Park) was Ranch Life in the Great Southwest, in which he showed his skills as a cattle wrangler. The film was a success and Mix became an early motion picture star. Olive gave birth to their daughter Ruth on July 13, 1912. Digitised by the Old Time Radio Researchers and streamed from the Internet Archive item “TomMixRalstonStraightShooters”; these recordings are in the public domain.

(09 Episodes) "Front Page Farrell" was a 15 minute daily, "Husband & Wife Detective Team" Soap Opera/Crime Serial, broadcast by Mutual/NBC from June 23, 1941 thru March 26, 1954. This serial was a Soap Opera disguised as a Crime Serial, to coax the working-class man to sit by the radio, after his long hard day at work. Judging by the length of the run, the idea worked! Because this detective soap opera took place during WWII, many of the episodes were taken directly from real life, more specifically, from the Office of War Information. From 1941-06-23 thru 1942-03-13, Front Page Farrell starre
